Roz Varon, a distinguished ABC 7 reporter, and her husband Glenn Kedzie have shared nearly two decades of marriage. Varon, known for her role as a morning traffic anchor since April 1989, is set to retire after a remarkable 35-year career with ABC 7. Her final day will be Friday, April 5.
Throughout her tenure, the veteran on-air personality has not only kept Chicagoans informed about traffic but has also covered transportation extensively, earning multiple Emmy Awards.
John Idler, the President and general manager of ABC 7, also praised her expertise and connection with viewers.
“Roz’s expertise and connection to our viewers are the reasons she has been our top traffic and transportation reporter for more than three decades,” Idler told the network. “Chicagoans know they can count on Roz to avoid a jam. We applaud Roz as she puts an exclamation point on an outstanding career.”

Roz and Glenn Married in 2005
Roz, 68, tied the knot with Glenn on June 11, 2005. Since then, they have formed an inseparable bond, savoring every moment together.
Their life events, including anniversaries and special occasions, are frequently celebrated and shared on their social media. They also enjoy surprising each other with thoughtful gifts.
For instance, Roz shared her joy on Facebook during their 15th anniversary, impressed by Glenn’s surprise of a lovely bouquet in their “kitchen studio.”
“Came downstairs to my “kitchen studio” and saw this! Thank you Glenn Kedzie for this lovely bouquet celebrating our 15th anniversary!” she wrote.
They Met in 2003
Varon and Kedzie first crossed their paths in 2003. They celebrated their first date on April 19, commemorating this moment yearly. On April 23, 2023, they celebrated the 20th anniversary of that first date with a dinner at Cooper’s Hawk Winery & Restaurant.
The Couple Has Two Kids
Roz and Glenn are blessed with two children, a daughter Sara Janz, and a son, Colin Kedzie.
Their daughter Sara has established herself as a proficient photographer and video editor. Her professional journey includes roles as a freelance photographer for Hilton | Asmus Contemporary since June 2022 and ongoing work with Wednesday Journal, Inc., since July 2020.
She has also contributed her skills as a freelance photographer for the Chicago Auto Show since February 2018. Her tenure at Lifetouch from February 2021 to July 2022 further honed her expertise in photography.
Additionally, she has experience as a camera operator for the Big Ten Network.
She attended Columbia College Chicago from 2014 to 2018. At present, Sara resides in the Greater Chicago Area with her fiance THE DJ ARTS.
On the other hand, their son Colin is a Vice President at Big Timber Landspace Co. He went to Harry D. Jacobs High School and then graduated from Northern Illinois University.
