What I Noticed Today:
I don’t know what I was looking at earlier on Wikipedia, but for whatever reason, I wound up on DMX’s page looking at his sales figures. Yea, I know he was huge on the radio in his prime, but I don’t think I’ve ever looked at a list of numerical stats. Now these are unofficial since they’re from Wikipedia, but they do have some references from the RIAA and other music certification services:
It’s Dark and Hell is Hot –>4X Platinum
Flesh of My Flesh, Blood of My Blood –>3X Platinum
…And then There was X –>5X Platinum
The Great Depression –>Platinum
The Grand Champ –>Platinum
Year of the Dog –>?
For having that much success and being one of the top MC’s in the game, it’s sad to see him in a cycle of legal trouble and personal issues…but apparently, we haven’t seen the best of him yet…

Yeah he’s done great work…It’s kinda unbelievable that so much talent has gone to trash for lack of a better word. What also amazes me, i speak out of ignorance of course, is the lack of support he’s gotten from the hip hop industry and his peers…goodness..
I hear you. I feel like a lot of people just think he’s a lost cause. He’ll be fine and then just revert back to the same old behavior. I dunno. He needs an intervention or something. Self destruction at its peak.
