I haven’t really been keeping up with the World Cup on the site, but I have been watching & checking out games when I could over the past month. Overall statements – I’m an Italy & U.S. fan (sigh). Surprised that Germany lost at all when they were destroying all the teams they played. I don’t think Spain was NECESSARILY the best team in the tournament, but they managed to get by on some great goals and play (It’s just fact…don’t be angry if you’re a Spain fan). The final game was a lot more boring than I expected it to be.

NEVERTHELESS – Gigantic win for the country of Spain and all of its players. Congrats to them and their fans.

This is a pretty nice vid Nike Soccer put together ‘Thanking’ the U.S. Soccer Team for their efforts in South Africa. I’d have to concur with the statements about the U.S. not diving compared to other teams. I know it can be utilized as an edge, but come on man. Some of you European teams are the absolute worst (at diving) and there’s no denying it (And don’t think I don’t know what I’m talking about or am just making a post because it’s popular right now in the world…I’ve played for 17 years, including a full scholarship at my first college).

Kind of an interesting choice outta all the people they could have had, but Robert does his thing. Just keep him away from the kids.

With K’Naan, Alicia Keys, John Legend and others already being involved in the 2010 World Cup, musically, Pharrell reveals that N.E.R.D. has submitted a song to FIFA. Here’s what he had to say:

“We have submitted a track to FIFA which will hopefully be chosen as the official anthem. I follow football a little bit – it would be great if it happens.”
