The thing about mashups: some work, so don’t. The best ones re-interpret songs and can actually make them better. The Hood Internet takes a stab at this latest one, combining Kavinsky’s “Nightcall” with Wale’s “Chain Music.” Not all that great IMO, but check it for yourselves:

Wale takes a very politically correct stance on Pill’s split from the Maybach Music Group. I saw this coming from a mile away a very long time ago.

Wale and Miguel stopped by Jimmy Fallon’s show last night to perform his hit single, “Lotus Flower Bomb.” Wale’s righthand man, Tre, was also in attendance.

I like this Maybach Music. Rozay, Wale and Meek Milly team up for a song they stashed for their upcoming Maybach Music Group project, MMG Uncut. I would assume this is just a collective mixtape they’ll drop to prep for the release of Self Made Vol. II. Salute to RR.

Wale ascends to his first top 40 hit on the Hot 100 as a lead act, as “Lotus Flower Bomb,” featuring Miguel, blooms 44-38. Even better news: on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, “Flower” becomes Wale’s first No. 1, rising 2-1 (and Miguel’s second, following his own “Sure Thing” in May). Fueling the flight of “Flower” on the Hot 100 is a 26-22 rise on Hot 100 Airplay (43 million all-format audience impressions, up 11%, according to Nielsen BDS) and a No. 72 re-entry on Hot Digital Songs (21,000 downloads sold, according to Nielsen SoundScan).
