I believe this is off of their upcoming album and the formal version of “Swelly Life” has Pharrell on the hook. I know Jabari has heard this song and he co-signs it as being great.

Ahhh man now I haven’t watched American Idol since the first season, but I wouldn’t mind tuning in to hear Snoop Dogg’s commentary. So many possibilities. And yes, apparently Idol is currently seeking a new judge. PS the twitpic in his twitter message led to this:

West is calling the, apparent, campaign “GOOD Friday’s,” where he’ll drop a new or unreleased track from the archives. I sometimes think about all the stuff we’ve NEVER heard before.

*** And just to clarify I think everyone is being dramatic, including me a bit. I’m sure if someone like Ne-Yo was singing this track (because it sounds like any other generic pop-ish track) and Rae hopped on to do a verse, no one would care. It’s just the thought of a Wu-Tang Clan member excited to be relevant via a teen pop sensation that sounds like a 12 year old girl.

Events that have transpired over the past few days, leading up to now:

Yeezy called me and we gon’ make it pop. At the end of the day we’re all doing our thing in the game and for them to even just have a conversation and just put my name in it it feels good…And we gon’ make a hit. Justin got his own fan base and Me and Yeezy got our own fan base and we gon’ make it happen. We gon’ make a good record.

According to US Magazine, Kanye West is to perform at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards – yea, the same award show where he was swigging a bottle of hennessy before jumping on stage and being a jackass. It’ll be interesting to see if he has a dialogue about Taylor Swift, or, even better, includes her in his performance. (Right, ‘Ye). MTV’s on the perpetual move for ratings, so anything is possible with the right amount of push…

Oh, and look out for a potential drop of music today or some time soon…

To me, Lupe’s situation is such an interesting case of music industry foolishness. Now, we can’t REALLY know what’s going down behind the scenes – but from the surface, it seems like Lupe has turned in the album, but the label isn’t behind his latest effort.

In the whole process, there has been vented anger over music and single leaks, petitions to put out the album, changes to the album, etc.  Now, while it’s still only speculation, it seems like Lupe is taking matters in to his own hands. Perhaps he plans on releasing Food & Liquor II on his own to see what kind of response he’ll get. Until then, Lasers is nothing but a shelved project, it seems like.

Looks like Slim Thug was a little twitter happy earlier in the day, as he released 13 songs that were in the vault (until now, obviously). He actually says he has about 100 of them he wants to release. Big thanks to HIF for compiling them all together and making this one file DL.

With projects as big as Kanye West’s and Kid Cudi’s, there was never really any chance that they could stick to their September 14th date. Now, I’m just trying to figure out if Big Sean, Consequence and GLC REALLY have a chance at dropping their albums, now that the big dogs are done for September. Do you think any of these artists could hold their own without Kanye’s promo?

I truly believe something like “Lose My Mind” was a stronger single than “Jizzle” with Lil Jon, but it looks like they’re going in that direction for the release of TM103. Check out the song here, if you haven’t already.

I don’t know how this is beneficial to Cool & Dre, who have already established their names as prominent producers in the game, but it looks like they have inked a little deal with Cash Money Records.  Perhaps it’s a way for them to release their own album, such as like a DJ Khaled or DJ Drama type compilation? I dunno. What do you think the benefits are of linking up with Cash Money?????
