Reminder! This Tour Will Be Sick!
Fresh off of their West Coast Opposite of Adults tour Chiddy Bang is taking cues from Wale’s motto #nodaysoff and hitting up the East Coast with The Swelly Life Tour.
Featuring Donnis, XV, 2am Club and DJ sets by DJ Benzi, the tour kicks off on August 4th in Pittsburgh, PA and ends on September 2nd in none other than Philly, PA.
I’ve posted two Chiddy Bang show reviews (read them here) and they’ve been stellar both times I’ve seen them live. Crazy energy. Ticket info after the jump:
Capitol Records Opens Legendary Recording Studios To Public For Rare Tour This Sunday
In conjunction with the 50th anniversary of the Hollywood Walk of Fame through the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, Capitol Records are opening their doors to the public for a once in a lifetime opportunity to tour the legendary A and B recording studios this Sunday, July 25th starting at 11:00 am. Capitol Records is located near Hollywood Blvd. and Vine St. in Hollywood, California.
Back in the day not only did Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole conduct recording sessions there, but today’s contemporary artists such as John Mayer and the Beastie Boys have put in time at the famed studio as well. (source)

Life in NYC: Chiddy Bang at Terminal 5
Went to go see Chiddy Bang (DJ/Producer Xaphoon and MC Chiddy) this past Friday here in NYC at Terminal 5 and was pleased at what I experienced. They put on a great show that had the audience moving the whole time during their 30 minute set.
I’ve been featuring the eclectic sound of Chiddy Bang for a bit now and actually missed a chance to meet and see them twice. I’ve been interested in their sound ever since a few HHU twitter followers pass their music around. They may not necessarily have groundbreaking material, but the clever lyrics and quality Xaphoon instrumentals create some material I can related to.
These guys opened up for RJD2 and Pretty Lights, but definitely stole the show early on. While I don’t, generally, like to list off a set list of what the guys performed, I just wanna say the show started off live and the crowd was going crazy by the end of the set. Xaphoon was all over the place holding down the instrumentals while the MC was tearing down the stage. They capped off their performance with their crowd-pleasing single, “Opposite of Adults.”
Overall, a great show and definitely recommend seeing them if you can. They’ll be on a big West Coast kick (along with The Pack) this coming week. Tour dates here.
I had press photo access, but, unfortunately, someone had to use my camera for the weekend for something a bit more important. So just my regular digital cam. Oh well.
Thanks to Chiddy Bang, Terminal 5 and Spencer.
West Coast! Check Out The Pack & Chiddy Bang in June!!!
Wanted to pass this along since Chiddy and The Pack are teaming up to bring a pretty ridiculous tour schedule to the West Coast in the month of June. Nearly every day from the 6th til the 22nd, these guys are putting on a great show for y’all to enjoy. I’m actually catching Chiddy on the 4th here in NYC, I believe it is. Here’s what the release has to say:
Bay Area trendsetters, The Pack, are preparing to hit the road with Chiddy Bang, the buzzworthy hit makers who are currently enjoying rave reviews of the mash-up styled sound. The ‘Opposite of Adults’ tour, will also feature performances by XV and 2am Club. The first leg of the tour hits 15 cities beginning on June 6 at Nuemos in Seattle, and is tentatively scheduled to hit the Midwest and East Coast starting in August.
Fans can now listen to “Wolfpack Party 2010,” the title track off of The Pack’s debut album, on the group’s MySpace. Another track off the forthcoming album, “Sex On The Beach,” will hit radio waves soon and is slated to be this summer’s anthem, so prepare yourself.
Chiddy Bang To Go On Tour
From the release:
Chiddy Bang’s four track EP, Opposite of Adults, will be released on June 1, 2010 through Virgin Records/EMI Music but from May 18-May 31, 2010 the EP will be available exclusively on the iTunes Store as part of their “Next Big Thing” promotion. Additionally, the playful and buzzworthy music video for the duo’s debut single, “Opposite of Adults,” a fun party jam which samples MGMT’s breakout hit “Kids,” was featured as iTunes “Music Video of the Week”for the week of May 11th. Proving it is already a fan favorite, the video recently won the coveted MTVu “Best Freshman Video” title. The video, first seen on Kanye West’s tastemaker blog, KanyeUniversecity, has been officially added to MTV Jams, MTVu, Music Choice and is part of Fuse’s “Incoming” platform that spotlights developing artists.
Having made their US TV debut on Last Call with Carson Daly, this collegiate hip hop duo has received early support from US print media with Blackbook proclaiming their Swelly Express mixtape as “one of the 3 mixtapes you need to own”. Look for upcoming profiles in Nylon, Spin and XXL magazines.

Billboard Boxscore made a recent tally of 2010′s top grossing shows thus far, and Jay-Z‘s Blueprint 3 tour took eight of the top 35 spots. Of the eight, Jiggaman’s best-selling show closed out at #10 overall after it grossed $1,322,831.
To give some added perspective on how much an artist can make in two weeks of touring, Jay-Z’s tour, which featured Jeezy and Trey Songz, grossed a total of $9,731,218 between March 11-24. Hov’s recent deal with concert-giant Live Nation, who famously signed him to a “360 deal” worth a reported $150 million, and also organized his 2008 tour with Mary J. Blige, which grossed $34.5 million, is likely responsible for the rapper’s high live performance profits.
