“N’s In Paris” & “Power” Live – Swizz Beatz Remixes
Swizz Beatz makes a beat to Jay and Ye’s Niggas in Paris while djing at Tenjune’s 5 year anniversary. I’ll be the first to boldly admit that I don’t like Swizz Beatz’s production. I recognize and appreciate some of the truly classic instrumentals he’s made, but I don’t think his production is consistent whatsoever.
Yes, Swizz Beatz Appreciates Art; Buys $1.7 Million Ernie Barnes Painting
If you know anything about Swizz Beatz, you already know he’s not strictly a musician or beat maker. He’s a respected designer, business man and visionary in the general arts.
Well, Swizzy expressed that love for art by dropping (an alleged) $1.7 million on Ernie Barnes’ first painting from 1957. Here’s the info on Barnes:
Ernest “Ernie” Eugene Barnes, Jr. (July 15, 1938 – April 27, 2009) was an African-American painter and is well-known for his unique style of elongation and movement. He was also a former professional football player, actor and author.
Most of Ernie Barnes’ artwork reflect his view of African American lifestyles but he also shows us his continued love for sports. He also has a commitment towards racial and ethnic harmony and many of his paintings reflect it. With all things considered it’s easy to see why Ernie is one of the most collected artists in the world.
Estelle ft Swizz Beatz, Jadakiss & Busta Rhymes – Break My Heart (Remix)
Estelle recruits Swizz Beatz, Jadakiss and Busta Rhymes for the official remix to her song that originally included Rick Ross. Hopefully this remix helps her pick up steam for her upcoming album, All of Me. Pic by me.
My Life: Billboard Summer Blowout w/ Swizz Beatz, Estelle
Quite truthfully, this is more for archival purposes than anything at this point since. I thought I had accidentally deleted all the photos, but I just found the folder. Quick recap: Billboard.com put together one last big concert to end the Summer (though this was held on the 11th of August), headlined by Swizz Beats (with special guest Estelle) and LMFAO. DJ Homicide on the turntables all night. Click below for my personal gallery of pics from the event:
New Reebok Sneaker Model by Swizz Beatz; the ‘Time to Show Court’
Honestly there are a few colorways of the Swizz X Reebok Kamikaze that are pretty dope IMO. However, these are definitely not my style. This is an upcoming collaboration model, called the Time to Show Court. Gold studded high top bearing the R logo. Reminds me a high top Supra. Additional pics below:

My Life: Paper Mag Sounds Like Paper 2011 Event w/ Swizz Beatz, Joe Jonas
This past Wednesday, I made my way out to Brooklyn for the Paper Magazine Sounds Like event at the House of Vans. Every Paper Mag event has been pretty solid, so I didn’t mind wandering Williamsburg trying to find the warehouse/outdoor space to grab some free corona, food and a show. Click below to check my quick recap and my gallery of pics from the event:
Swizz Beatz Covers PAPER Mag; The Feature
Mr. Swizz Beatz covers the latest issue of PAPER Mag, in stores tomorrow. Here is the cover story, which is a pretty great feature on the man:
So here’s an introduction to Swizz Beatz.
He was born Kasseem Dean in the South Bronx and starting around 1998, began making music under the moniker Swizz Beatz as the in-house producer for hip-hop’s notorious Ruff Ryders camp. Swizz crafted hits for acts like DMX, Eve, Drag-On and the LOX. The Ruff Ryders’ sound was one of the most aggressive and unlikely on radio — hit songs that made people want to hit each other. And when he first started making music, Swizz would brag in interviews that most of his beats took him 15 minutes or less to make. He went on to produce albums for a who’s who of the R&B and rock worlds and make music on his own, which for the most part flew under the radar. Read the rest below:
Swizz Beatz Thanks The Fans
Swizzy keeps it personal as he thanks to the fans for supporting his Reebok collabo. Not really my style, but they’re a cool model that seems to have reinvigorated the brand a bit.
