M.I.A. – XXXO [Music Video]
M.I.A. is sitting pretty in this new, relatively tame, single off of her new album, MAYA (I Don’t feel like figuring out how to spell it the way it’s actually spelled). M.I.A. has had a string of absolutely horrid live shows recently, so hopefully this new music vid + single will restore some faith in some fans.
Sri Lanka Still Thinks M.I.A. Supports Terrorism
M.I.A on her Music Videos constantly being taken down from the net:
They buried my Paper Planes, none of my ****ing shit comes up. All my videos have been constantly pulled, the latest thing that’s up there is from 11 months ago. The Sri Lankan government is writing to them and saying, ‘If you stick MIA videos up we’re gonna take you to jail for supporting terrorism.’”

M.I.A. Unofficially Announces Free NYC Show
Over the weekend, M.I.A. had a show at HARD Fest here in NYC, which, apparently, wound up sucking horribly. A mix of rain and a terrible performance pretty much killed the show. Well, she tweeted that she would be throwing a free show to make up for the performance:
fuck it! im gonna do a free show in nyc when i get back, tho i dont have powers over rain! if u still have the hard ticket u free! if u do me a lil dance , ill let u in too! xxxo
If interested, I would stay tuned, because I’m sure if it actually goes down, there will be free tickets given out to a lot more people than just those who have HARD Fest stubs.
M.I.A. – MINDFVCK [Mixtape]
Here’s a personal mix by September 7th (Cali Untouchables / Coast 2 Coast Dj’s) of one of his favorite international artists M.I.A. “MINDFVCK” is a collection music of Mathangi “Maya” Arulpragasam, otherwise known as M.I.A. This is sure to set the standard for future M.I.A. mixtapes to come! This project is also hosted by M.I.A. exclusively thanks to Coast 2 Coast DJ Coalition, N.E.E.T. Recordings & the Cali Untouchables!

Maryland’s Virgin Mobile Festival Lineup Announced – T.I., Luda, M.I.A., LCD Soundsystem Headline
On Saturday, September 25th, the Virgin Mobile FreeFest returns, this time with a lineup that crosses indie, hip-hop, and dance boundaries. The much controversial M.I.A., NYC alt-dance outfit LCD Soundsystem, and recently reunited indie legends Pavement will headline this year’s festivities.
Also on the 2010 bill are the recently freed T.I., Ludacris, Joan Jett, Thievery Corporation, Jimmy Eat World, Yeasayer, The Temper Trap, Matt & Kim, and Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes.
In addition to two main stages, this year’s festival will also feature a “dance forest,” which will feature the talents of Chromeo, Sleigh Bells, Die Antwoord, Modeselektor, and Neon Indian. What’s more, New Orleans based Trombone Shorty will lead a special second line march from stage to stage.
Free tickets to the free festival will be available starting Saturday, July 24th at 10 AM EST via Ticketfly.com. Virgin Mobile customers and previous Virgin Mobile Festival ticket holders from the past four years will be invited via text and email to a private “free-sale” (much like a pre-sale, except free) to be held Friday, July 23rd.
Ticketfly is waiving all service charges when fans pick up their FreeFest tickets at Merriweather or the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. or print the tickets at home. Customers also have the option to have their tickets delivered by mail for a nominal fee.
M.I.A. – Born Free (Live on Letterman)
Not really the typical type of bouncy track Letterman would usually feature (surprised she didn’t do XXXO), but M.I.A. takes the stage to perform her controversial single.
LA – Tonight is MIA’s Release Party!
I don’t believe MIA will be in attendance, but go and get some free music, drinks and take some pics. RSVP here.
M.I.A. ft. Jay-Z – XXXO + Steppin Up
Here’s the official remix to M.I.A.’s second single from her album, Maya (spelled however she spells it). I’m not mad at a little Jay-Z remix at all. Look for the XXXO video to be dropping soon. Also, below this, check out a bonus track from M.I.A.:
M.I.A. ft. Jay-Z – XXXO
M.I.A. – Steppin Up
M.I.A. – Haters

M.I.A. drops another one on um, in the form of “Haters.” This track is a little out there, but I’m an M.I.A. supporter so here ya go:
M.I.A. – Haters
M.I.A. – XXXO
Another track, presumably, off of M.I.A. latest untitled offering, due out in mid-June. This is definitely a change when compared to her EXTREMELY controversial music video and song for “Born Free.” XXXO gives a more uptempo club vibe. Produced by Blaqstarr.
M.I.A. – XXXO
M.I.A. – Born Free (Music Video)
Some interesting visuals from M.I.A. and director Romain Gavras for her comeback single.
M.I.A. – Born Free
June 29th is the date of M.I.A.’s upcoming, not-yet-titled, release and here is, supposedly, the first track off that project. If you’re not digging this type of music, move along, but I’m a fan of the M.I.A.’s, Santigold’s, Jade’s, Uffie’s and that type of music.
