Wayne has the #1 Digital Song From the Jail

Via Billboard:

Over on the Digital Songs chart this week we greet at new No. 1 in the form of “Right Above It” from Lil Wayne featuring Drake as it struts in with 225,000 downloads sold. It’s the first No. 1 for Wayne on this chart and it’s his best sales week as a lead artist.

Wayne’s debut pushes aside last week’s No. 1, Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie,” which slides to No. 3 with 207,000 (down 19%) behind Perry’s “Teenage Dream,” which jumps one spot to No. 2 (209,000; up 13%). Bruno Mars’ “Just the Way You Are” slides into the top 10, rising six rungs to No. 6 (144,000; up 56%) while Nelly’s “Just a Dream” debuts at No. 8 with 135,000. It’s his first top 10 on the tally since “Grillz” peaked at No. 2 in early 2006.

Wayne Sues Booking Agency from Jail

Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne has fired off a lawsuit against his former booking agents, accusing them of holding back $375,000 in tour profits.

The hitmaker and his company Young Money Touring Inc. allege the owners of Ujaama Talent Agency Inc., Erskine Isaac and David Nelson, owe him money from two of his America’s Most Wanted Music Festivals in 2009.

The complaint claims Isaac and Nelson “elected to divert to Ujaama’s own bank account an amount not less than $375,000, the sum that Isaac and Nelson maintain is owed to Ujaama for the tours in question.”

Lil Wayne has employed the firm’s services since the start of his career and participated in four different tours with Ujaama from 2008 to 2010, according to the suit filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York on August 16.

AllHipHop.com reports that the rapper’s lawyer asked the pair for the money before filing the suit, but they refused to hand it over.

Lil Wayne is currently serving time at New York’s Rikers Island jail on weapons possession charges and is due for release later this year.

Drake ft. Lil Wayne – Miss Me [Music Video]

This music video is more low key compared to the hype of “Over” and “Find Your Love,” but it serves its purpose. Lil Wayne’s  little part was filmed a while back, obviously, and they incorporated it well.

Lil Wayne’s Jail Diet: Ramen, Dorito’s and Kool Aid

This is more of a novelty post for those interested what the food options are if you ever plan on carrying a gun and getting locked up at Rikers Island. Sounds like Wayne is on the college freshman diet between the dorito’s, ramen, ruffles, cookies and kool-aid. Thanks to TMZ

Lil Wayne ft. Drake – Right Above It (CDQ)

This dropped late last night as a radio rip, but here is the CDQ version for y’all to enjoy. Again, this is the first official single off of Wayne’s September I’m Not a Human EP and is produced by Kane Beatz.

Lil Wayne ft. Drake – Right Above It (Radio Rip)

Saw this record being talked about on twitter as a DJ Clue exclusive off of Lil Wayne’s upcoming EP, I’m Not a Human, dropping in September.  This is to be the first single and features Wheelchair N Wayne. Looks like a few got the radio rip, including Digital Dripped. CDQ coming by tonight or tomorrow, hopefully.

Lil Wayne Speaks to Funk Flex from Jail

Lil Wayne calls in to Funk Flex’s show to update him on his current situation on Rikers Island. Wayne speaks on his November release, the fan support, what he listens to, sports, etc.  Wayne goes on to talk about his plans after he comes out of jail. Thanks to Funk Flex.

Lil Wayne – (500) Days of Weezy [Mixtape]

This is a very strange project. This guy, My Sick Uncle, made this mashup project with Lil Wayne’s vocals over the soundtrack to the movie, 500 Days of Summer. The creator took some of the song instrumentals, created beats, and then added interview snips to vocals to complete the transformation in to 500 Days of Weezy. Very strange, but some of them really work. You can preview here and download below:

Dow Jones of Tha Bizness Says “Tha Carter IV” Will Change Your Life. Doubtful, Though.

I respect music to the utmost, but it would never affect me so much that would give me a different perspective on life. Ever. So, doubtful of that statement, Mr. Jones. I know you gotta say what you gotta say to promote your work, but come on.

Other than that, he does mention that one of the tracks Tha Bizness worked on was with an artist “Drake wanted on his album.” The two artists I think I remember that declined to be on his album are Andre 3000 and Sade. So that could be interesting.

Wayne is NOT a Human…

Via Cortez Bryant (Wayne’s Co-Manager):

“I’m putting out a [Wayne] album called I’m Not A Human Being and I’ll probably drop it on his birthday, September 27.

According to Bryant, the album will be an EP of all new Wayne material to serve as the Carter IV prelude. Fans are also warned not to expect any marketing and promotion bells and whistles.

“We not about to roll out no three month set up. I’m not even putting it out in stores. We just gonna put it out virally and maybe package it up for Christmas. Give ‘em a hard copy later for fan appreciation.”

Sounds like they’re pulling a So Far Gone, releasing it online and then trying to get some cash come Christmas time.

Birdman ft. Tyga, Lil Wayne – Loyalty (Music Video)

The instrumental on this is pretty nice. Generic Cash Money stuff, but its not bad. Never heard this song before.  And yea, I know the song’s old, but I don’t frequent much music from Bryan “Baby” Williams lately.

Drake ft. Jay-Z, Lil Wayne – Light Up (Remix)

Last night, Drake’s producer/engineer 40 posted up the official mix of Wayne verse added to Drake’s “Light Up” track. Obviously, the quality still isn’t great since it was recorded over the phone, but it’s better than the previously released version. Track is nasty IMO

Verse was cool, but calm down Aubrey

Em X Wayne Vid Coming Soon….

Looks as though Eminem and Wayne will put out a new video off of Recovery. Honestly, I haven’t given the album a thorough listen, but from what I’ve heard, it’s a solid piece of material. Better than Relapse (again, only from what I’ve given a listen to).

Lil Wayne’s “Light Up” Verse From Jail

I saw this uStream going down last night, but I didn’t really care all that much to sit around waiting for something to go down.I guess the Life Files did, though, and they cut the segment down to where Lil Wayne rapped his verse on “Light Up.” Obviously, it’s not great since it was recorded over the phone, but wanted to post it up anyway.

Relax, Aubrey.
