Cory Gunz Could Face Minimum 3.5 Years in Prison if Convicted for Gun Charge
Cory Gunz – born Peter Pankey Jr. – was arrested in the Bronx Saturday when cops found he was carrying an unregistered Taurus .9mm handgun, police said. He was arraigned in Bronx Criminal Court Sunday night on charges of criminal possession of a loaded firearm.
His father, rapper Peter Gunz, posted the $30,000 bail. “This was a big mistake on my part,” Gunz told The Daily News early Monday morning after getting out of jail. “I didn’t have any intentions of harming anyone or committing a criminal activity. So many young people look up to me and I need to fight though this.”
The 24-year-old Young Money talent was nabbed around 2:30 p.m. at the corner of Westchester Ave. and Ward Ave. in Soundview, according to cops.
If convicted, Gunz – a father of two young girls – faces a mandatory minimum sentence of three and 1/2 years.
“It’s been really hard, really stressful,” Gunz said. “When the smoke finally clears people will understand what was going on.”

SURPRISE! The Dream Owes $117k In Taxes
It somewhat boggles my mind that people still think they can get away with not paying taxes. This time around, it’s The Dream’s turn.
The Georgia Department of Revenue filed a state tax lien against the music producer — claiming Dream failed to pay income taxes in 2007 totaling $60,578 … with interest and fees, the sum skyrocketed to $117,401.
Locked Up Lil Boosie Pens Letter to His Fans
Pay Your Bills, Nelly.
Nelly ran up a $20,403.64 credit card bill with American Express — which seems totally reasonable for a big name rap star. Just one problem … AMEX says he never paid it!
The credit card company filed a lawsuit against Nelly (real name Cornell Iral Haynes, Jr) in Missouri back in October to try and get their money back (plus another $3,000 in attorney’s fees). So far though, they claim Nelly has refused to pay what he owes.
A court hearing is scheduled for January 9. Calls to Nelly’s camp were not returned
Young Buck Could Lose His “Young Buck” Name
Rapper Young Buck could lose his name and other assets in a bankruptcy case that the rapper says is frustrating his attempts to sign with a new record label.
Davidson County Bankruptcy Judge George Paine converted the artist’s bankruptcy from Chapter 11 reorganization to Chapter 7 liquidation this week.
The trustee administering his estate has said she plans to sell the trademarked “Young Buck” name along with other assets. The platinum artist, whose real name is David Darnell Brown, told The Tennessean he was close to signing a recording deal with New Orleans-based Cash Money Records.
To date, creditors have submitted 22 claims totaling $11.5 million in Buck’s bankruptcy case, including $10 million that the record label G-Unit Records says Buck owes them over a contract dispute.

Slim Dunkin’s Death Allegedly Started Over a Piece of Candy
Police are reporting that rapper Slim Dunkin’s death was the result of an altercation over a piece of candy he took from someone in the studio. There’s gotta be more to the story than that, but it seems like this was the initial spark to the flame. So senseless. R.I.P.

Gucci Mane Makes Around $25k A Month
TMZ had posted this story about Gucci Mane striking a custody deal with his baby’s mother – he has to pay $2,026 a month to help support his 4-year-old son – but the most interesting figure? According to the legal documents, Gucci makes $24,908 a month.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t specify how they came up with that figure, but that’s not bad when you’re spending most of your time in jail. How much dirty money does he make on the low, though?
OMG. Drake Does a Bad Thing and STEALS the City of Toronto’s Logo!!
Wowsers. Drake committing high profile crimes for that street cred? (that’s sarcasm in the post title, for those who didn’t realize). Cliff Notes: Drake jacked the city of Toronto’s “official” logo for his Take Care billboard. Now, people in Toronto are mildly-overreacting over the use of the logo. That Aubrey. What a rebel. B.G. Pleads Guilty to Gun Charge; Could Face Up to 40 Years in Prison
Aw man. The rise and fall. Yesterday in Court, Former Cash Money Millionaire B.G. confirmed that he was guilty of being a felon in possession of a firearm and witness tampering. Prosecutors made clear there is no plea agreement or deal in place.
By pleading guilty, Dorsey admitted to certain facts. Some of the guns confiscated from a vehicle in a November 2009 traffic stop were his. And as a convicted felon, he shouldn’t have had those guns. In addition, he acknowledged that he conspired with a pal to get an associate in that car, 20-year-old Demounde Pollard, to sign an affidavit falsely claiming ownership of them.
In court documents tied to his guilty plea, the allegations go further. Federal prosecutors paint Dorsey as having ties to other local high-profile criminals. The names of some of this city’s most notorious alleged murderers — Telly Hankton and Michael Anderson — are listed on those documents. Prosecutors make clear that they know about online videos in which Dorsey brags about crimes, name-checks his criminal associates and demands that law enforcement free them.
Now, he faces a prison stint that could, allegedly, stretch up to 40 years. He will be sentenced on March 14th.

Ryan Leslie Being Sued For Not Rewarding Laptop Finder With Promised $1 Million
Having pleaded desperately online for the return of his missing laptop overseas, Ryan Leslie promised whoever returned the laptop the sum of $1 million dollars no questions asked. Welp, looks like he allegedly never paid up.
Armin Augstein said in court filings that he repeatedly tried to reap the reward from the Harlem-based musician after finding the laptop while walking his dog in a Stommelerbusch, Germany, park about a month after the MacBook went missing. Augstein, a 52-year-old German, is seeking the $1 million fee plus interest, according to the suit, filed in U.S. District Court in Manhattan.
