Kid Cudi – Mojo So Dope (UPDATED – NO TAGS, FULL VERSION)

Previously, a snip of this track leaked – but here’s the full thing for your enjoyment.  This sounds like it could have been straight off of Man on the Moon, but  [tentatively] it is to be off of his sophomore album (although no one knows what will wind up on his delayed followup cd). Pic by me.

G.O.O.D. Music Day Continues to Crumble

Too G.O.O.D. to be true, folks. With Kanye’s album still unnamed and being said that it will be pushed back, Rap Up now reports Cudi’s album is looking at an October 26th release date.  They’re usually pretty accurate, but who knows at this point.

Chip tha Ripper & Kid Cudi – Ask About Me [Live Performance]

Some great footage of Chip tha Ripper and Kid Cudi performing “Ask About Me” the other night at Santos in NYC. Read my recap of the night HERE.

Life in NYC: Chip tha Ripper & Kid Cudi Take Over Santos Party House

After a long time coming and HHU promoting this show, Cleveland rapper Chip tha Ripper took to the stage on Friday night at NYC’s venue Santos Party House.

While Chip has gained notoriety by touring under the wing of Kid Cudi, he has recently embarked on his solo tour to establish himself as a solo artist – and not just Kid Cudi’s sidekick. Did one of the toughest cities in the country embrace the kid? Click below to check out my overall recap and some great pics:

Some Jackass Attacks Kid Cudi…Cudi Chases the Kid in to the Crowd

I read about this last night on twitter (I wasn’t at my computer all night, just on my phone) and was interested in seeing what happened this time around. Apparently the kid walked on stage and tried to hackey sack, for whatever reason, and then moved toward Cudi aggressively. Youtube user DumDum233 captured it all pretty well.

With all that said, Cudi should never try and fight back or lay his hands on anyone. People tend to maneuver their way in to famous peoples’ pockets through suing them for the stupidest reasons….

Click below for two more great videos of Cudi freaking out on the kid:

Kid Cudi New Street Date, One Less Artist On Proposed Sept. 14th G.O.O.D. Music Day

When it was first announced it seemed too good to be true, but Kid Cudi is the first artist to pull out of the proposed G.O.O.D. Music day of September 14th. September 28th is the new date for Cudi’s Man On The Moon 2: The Legend Of Mr. Rager. As of now, Kanye West, Consequence and Big Sean are holding tight to September 14th, but if things change we’ll keep you posted.

Life in NYC: Converse ‘All Summer’ Event w/ Kid Cudi

Last night, Converse held an event for its All Summer campaign in Brooklyn and it was a definite success. Got there at about 9pm and as soon as I stepped inside, I already knew it was going to be a good night: It was very well air conditioned (so much more clutch than it sounds haha), I was handed free stuff and all three bars provided free drinks the entire night. Thank you, Converse.

Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West – Erase Me (CDQ)

This dropped at like 10:30 pm last night, right as I turned off my computer, but I had bigger and better affairs to attend to, so you got it here this morning. I was probably the second person on the net to post the initial ripped version of the track, but you got a pretty clear vision of what Cudi was going after. This is produced by Jim Jonsin.

Essentially, this song was built for radio and the ever-so-important crossover appeal. The appeal that actually SELLS records. Built for it, I say. I’m pretty indifferent about it, but I remember reading someone on twitter saying this sounds like a Lil Wayne “Rebirth” reference record. And I agree.

Kid Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij & Bethany Cosentino – All Summer (Music Video)

Here’s the music video to go along with the Converse sponsored track that released last week. Those paper-mache heads are kinda creepy. Nice song, though.

Kid Cudi, Rostam Batmanglij, Best Coast – All Summer

Converse teams up with Cudi, Rostam (from Vampire Weekend) and Best Coast to bring us a new promo track. I like this track a lot, actually. Something a bit different.

Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West – Erase Me (Rip)

Wow. We get what appears to be the official single off of Kid Cudi’s Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager album (Due out Sept 14th) after he initially dropped the warmup RevOfEv record. This track was definitely made for the radio and features the G.O.O.D. music boss himself, Kanye West.

This was just premiered a minute ago by Cleveland DJ, DJ E-V on his station 96.5. You got the download here first. *Working on the CDQ right now.

Kid Cudi ft. Kanye West – Erase Me (Rip)

Also, in Kanye West news, it looks as though Nicki Minaj could be making an appearance on his album. When you’re at the status of ‘Ye, you’re really gonna take two steps back and work with someone like Nicki Minaj? (Yea, I dislike her and her factory produced ‘career’).

Cons, Cudi, Sean and ‘Ye Day: September 14th

WOW. Talk about an epic day in music. Consequence has confirmed that he, Kid Cudi, Big Sean, and Kanye West will ALL drop studio albums on September 14th, 2010 (Don’t count on it 100%, though. You know how these rappers are.) Consequence’s announcement adds to the previous statement, where Big Sean confirmed it would be him, Cudi and Kanye. Add Cons in to the mix and call it a G.O.O.D. Day.

On one level, this is GREAT news. So much G.O.O.D. music on one day. On the other hand, I’m afraid, mostly for Big Sean and Consequence, that some people will get all the shine i.e. Kanye West and Kid Cudi. Do you think this is a smart move, business wise and musically? Do you think they should separate the releases so each artist can get their moment(s) in the spotlight?

Short Film by Converse Featuring Kid Cudi

This summer, Converse further activates its commitment to being a catalyst for creativity by bringing together three extraordinary musicians from different genres to form a unique collaboration known as Three Artists. One Song. The nucleus of this initiative is a brand new, all original track featuring Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend and Kid Cudi that will be released this July and available to music fans globally via free download at converse.com and authorized Converse websites around the world. In addition to collaborating on the track, each of the artists also participated in the creation of the music video, which will be released later this summer.

“Kid Cudi is one of today’s most innovative artists,” said Geoff Cottrill, Chief Marketing Officer of Converse. “His eclectic style and ability to weave timeless samples effortlessly into his own music sets him apart from his peers. At Converse, we always champion creativity and if his past collaborative efforts are any indication, the creative freshness he will bring to the new single is sure to make the song an instant summer hit.”

In anticipation of the song’s release, each artist is also featured in a short film, with the second installment exploring Kid Cudi’s life, and the influences that make him one of today’s most pioneering artists. The film captures Cudi exploring his native Cleveland and provides a unique look into his artistic journey.

Kid Cudi – RevOfEv

Image and video hosting by TinyPic
So I guess Kid Cudi unleashed this last night/early this morning on his blog and he brings us the first official single to his sophomore album, Man on the Moon II. To clarify the name, he says it stands for Revolution of Evolution, which was previously the name of his album. This was produced by his manager, Plain Pat. His album is tentatively supposed to drop in September, so consider this just a warmup single.

Lissie – “Pursuit of Happiness” Cover

I’m actually a big fan of covers – especially when artists put their own touch on the respective original song. Saw this spotlighted on Kid Cudi’s blog, so I wanted to post this up here. Interesting take on “Pursuit of Happiness.” I still get a kick out of Cudi’s music vid shot at the Jane Hotel here in NYC.
