It’s actually great promo for Eastbound & Down having Kanye West follow Kenny Powers out of the million + followers he has, himself. Funny, because just today I was reading about how Marilyn Manson is obsessed with Eastbound. Check it on HBO on the 26th!!!!!!!!!!!!

Music producer S1 heightens his industry profile with some recently spotted interviews on the web  – PMP Worldwide, iStandard and performing rights organization ASCAP.

PMP: How did you get your start in music production?

S1: Well I began producing about 13 years ago. My cousin, Myth and I started a group back in 1995 called Symbolyc Elementz (Source Unsigned Hype, Rap Sheets). It was after then where I began to dive into the Art of Production and learn how to create and arrange sounds. I got tired of us rhyming over other artist/groups’ instrumentals and breaks and wanted to create a sound for ourselves.

PMP: What was the music scene like coming up in Waco Tx?

S1: We really didn’t have a music scene. Well, we had a small scene but it was mainly the down south/gangsta type music around us and we we’re straight hip hop. We wasn’t really accepted however our music did stand out from the rest of the pack.

PMP: Walk us through your creative process from beginning to end.

S1: I don’t have a set process for creating music. I do everything off feeling and inspiration. A typical work week would look like this for me: Day 1-2 – Search and find new samples/drums/ideas and put all files in a single folder. Day 3-4 Start sequencing and arranging new ideas with the new sounds. Day 5 -6 – schedule my musicians(guitar, violins, etc) to add parts and layers to my ideas. Day 7 – finish, mix and finalize all the joints that I worked on for that week.

PMP: Since the release of Kanye’s ‘Power’ single how have things changed as far as brand notoriety and business opportunities?

S1: Things have been Great! Having a single for a Major International Artist like Kanye really exposed my art to the world and presented so many opportunities. I’m Truly blessed to be in this position and just trying my best to take full advantage of where God has placed me.

West is calling the, apparent, campaign “GOOD Friday’s,” where he’ll drop a new or unreleased track from the archives. I sometimes think about all the stuff we’ve NEVER heard before.

I called this the minute it was rumored that ‘Ye would be performing.

“I’d like to get them together. We’ve never really seen them together since then. They were supposed to be together on SNL, but then that didn’t end up happening. We’ll try to think of something clever to do with them, because that would be really fun.”

Kanye kept to his promise and the official remix to “Power” just leaked after debuting on Hot 97.  Jay adds his verse, Kanye spazzes in two new verses and Swizz Beatz adds his own production flare to the track.  Definitely digging this official remix right here. 5 minutes of heat right there! Thoughts on this, people?

*** And just to clarify I think everyone is being dramatic, including me a bit. I’m sure if someone like Ne-Yo was singing this track (because it sounds like any other generic pop-ish track) and Rae hopped on to do a verse, no one would care. It’s just the thought of a Wu-Tang Clan member excited to be relevant via a teen pop sensation that sounds like a 12 year old girl.

Hip-hop star Kanye West won’t have to attend in person a mediation session aimed at resolving a lawsuit filed against him by rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight.

A Miami federal judge recently agreed to permit West to take part in the Aug. 26 session by phone. West’s lawyers say he can’t be there personally because of a long-standing business commitment outside the continental U.S.

Knight is seeking more than $1 million in damages from West and his companies. Knight was shot in the leg at a 2005 Miami Beach party hosted by West, whom he blames for lax security.

West, Knight and their lawyers met in New York for six hours in June but failed to settle the case. The shooter has never been identified and the case is unsolved.

At the end of the day we’re all doing our thing in the game and for them to even just have a conversation and just put my name in it it feels good…And we gon’ make a hit. Justin got his own fan base and Me and Yeezy got our own fan base and we gon’ make it happen. We gon’ make a good record.

Obviously it’s up in the air what the final tracklist for Kanye’s album will be – what will and won’t be included – but it seems like whoever runs this mixtape company got ahold of a track. Not sure if the full version will appear on the mixtape or whether it’s just this snip, but it’ll be on Young Money’s Lime Light Exclusives Volume 2. ***Warning – it’s a very small snip, but I know people are fiending for this music.
