FSD Interview with Common

I’ll let Andrew tell it:

After almost four years, I was finally able to interview one of my all time favorite emcees: Common Sense. I’ve been following his career for nearly 20 years and although we’ve crossed paths numerous times, I’ve never had a chance to sit down and chat with him. So luckily before taking the stage at his One Day It’ll All Make Sense book release party (hosted by Moet Rose) he granted us an amazing interview.

Common goes into great detail about his upcoming album, The Dreamer, The Believer (dropping November 22), and explains just how excited he is to be reunited with No I.D., who handled all production duties on the project. Rash promises that more leaks from the album are on the way, and the next single will be “Blue Sky.” He says this is quite possibly the best music he’s ever created and the chemistry with No I.D. is better than ever.

Com also hints that a full length project with Nas is on the way. He champions Nas as his all time favorite MC, and likens their collaborative work to that of John Coltrane and Miles Davis. Nas and Com have some records in the stash, so one can only hope we hear these sooner than later.

Common even comments on “I Used To Love H.E.R.” being named the number one Chicago rap song of all time, and was thrilled with the honor. Be sure to pick up One Day It’ll All Make Sense, which is available now.

Pusha T Talks “Fear of God 2,” Clipse

Says FSD:

We caught up with Pusha T after his performance at the G.O.O.D. Music/Heineken Red Star Access event at The Shrine last week. We talk about his upcoming album Fear Of God 2, the future of the Clipse (they aren’t done), his beef with Consequence (he doesn’t think he’s any good), signing to G.O.O.D. Music and his fashion sense.

Pics from the Set of Kanye & Jay’s “Otis”

I think the media is making this song out to be some sort of brilliance – it’s really not- but it’s a solid track nonetheless and the two A-list rappers have shot/are shooting a music video for the song. Shot in Los Angeles, allegedly by Spike Jonze, you can clearly see that single artwork above. Click below for another pic:

Kanye West & Jay-Z – Watch The Throne: The Samples (Mixtape)

The guys over at FSD took the production credits that got leaked and created this nice mixtape of samples used. I think this is actually a cool feature because you can see how the samples are utilized once the actual album is released.

Omen – Colorful Noose

It’s a shame that MC’s like Omen and Voli aren’t held in the same spotlight other artists are, because their consistent quality of music is superior to many. Regardless, here’s a new Voli-produced track that Omen will feature on his Afraid of Heights mixtape. Thanks to FSD.
