Behind the Scenes; “Speakin in Tungs”
It’s a tough life, being Killer Cam’ron out in South Beach. Here, Cam, Vado and FREEKEY! Gunz N Butta drops at the end of August.
Re-Introducing: The Harlem Diplomats
Good to see the good old motley crew come together and do their thing for the music. Here’s what Miss Info had to say:
On Friday, at a construction site in Brooklyn, the big four, Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey, all got together and filmed a video to show the world a unified front!
It didn’t happen at SummerJam last week (Juelz had his own set, Jimmy was blocked from the building and Cam surprised the crowd with Vado during DJ Khaled’s set) but that doesn’t meant that the wheels haven’t been turning in the same direction behind the scenes.
Jim Jones – Summer Where You Been

I’m not really a big Jim Jones fan, but one I’ve vibed with for years is that “Summer with Miami” track. Here, Jones tries to reinvent that Summer song. Not the same smooth joint, but it’s cool:

Cam’ron Talks ATL
Harlem rap king Cam’ron has enough bread to set up shop anywhere. He’s had ties to Florida and he’s heavy in the Midwest. Now, Killa has packed his bags and headed down South. Cam has temporarily relocated to Atlanta to record his next few projects.
“We got a bunch of stuff going on,” Cam explained recently. “I got my solo album to do. We got ‘Killa Season 2′ soundtrack. ‘Cousin Bang, the Movie’ soundtrack. To keep it 100, down South, they got a lot of hot beats with no samples. We’re trying to just get a different vibe. I did four of my albums in New York, one in Chicago, one in L.A. But I never did an album recording in Atlanta. So me and Vado came down here to get a different vibe. We’re gonna be down here for a few months recording and working.”
Killa has already started his next mixtape, a collaboration with DJ Holiday. Cam and Vado also just released their Boss of All Bosses tape with DJ Drama. The set features the new Vado single “Speakin Tongues.”
“I don’t know what nobody thought,” Cam told Mixtape Daily of the song. “It’s me. This is what I do for a living. But shout to Vado. It’s his record. He got the beat and all that. I was like, ‘Nah, we gotta put that out immediately.’
“Let me break it down: We’re the U.N. That’s the name of the team,” Cam described. “The U.N. is ‘Us Now.’ We got an album coming out in August that’s gonna be stupid. Vado’s solo joint, look towards December [for that one]. But I want everybody to be focused on that U.N. album, ’cause when that comes out, it’s gonna be bananas. Stupid. This August. ['Speakin Tongues'], this is the first single off of it.”
“The song is about partying, living the Harlem life. Ballin’,” Vado added. “You already know.”
The Diplomats Are “Gonna Heat it Up Like the Summer. Get it? Heat it up like the Summer. Hot.”
You prob saw pics of these two floating around on the blogs this weekend, but here’s a quick vid with the two of them re-united. Diplomats fans rejoice. They really mean it.
Cam’ron in his Bulletproof Apron
This was one of the oddest uStream’s I’ve probably watched in a long time. Was gonna go to bed like an hour ago, but these goobers just lead a very strange life – so I was hooked. First of all, they spend a half an hour disrespecting that girl right there to her face, who I am convinced is a mail order bride from Poland (they said she’s Polish on the uStream).
Then Cam’ron comes in wearing some sort of jumpsuit (which he claims is made by Prada) and he’s cooking up Chicken Parmesan for all these characters. He serves them and then leaves.
Next, we have these corny ass people walking around this house, showing the different features. Like these lovely Diplomats curtains. Cam’ron interjects, saying look at the floors. They have diamonds in the floor. Or, in the normal persons world, silver flakes in the enamel to make them shine in the light.
Cam’ron also makes sure to get the camera on his imported pottery and glass from Milan. As well as his shiny Panda. From Milan.
This guy lives in such a bizarre world (in his own mind), that you can’t turn away. And I finally did once Vado took over the computer for a little bit. Odd, odd person. Good night.
Cam’ron – Sorry
Miss Info liberates another track today, as she hands us a new one from Killer Cameron Giles. This is set to be off his upcoming mixtape, “The Boss of All Bosses 2.5, with Drama.” Info also tells us that he’s been cooking up some heat with some big names, recently. We shall see.
