This is one of those collaborations that you wouldn’t initially expect, but it works in its own way. Honestly this sounds like a Justin Timberlake-type track from Australian artist Josh Jakq with CyHi spitting his one verse to give it an extra edge. Pretty smooth.
A radio rip circulated around the internets a few weeks ago, but here is the CDQ version of DOOMSTARKS’ “Victory Laps.” Another cool collaboration project on the way from MF DOOM and Ghostface. Give it a listen:
**UPDATE…Sorry, I was politely asked to remove the article and so it doesn’t spoil the album (quite yet…we still have two months and some change before the album drops and things could altered between now and then). The gist of the review? J.Cole didn’t sell out one bit on the album, the production is top […]

The Weeknd played a sold out show last night in Toronto – the first public appearance in his popular career. Here he is performing “The Birds Part 1.” Sounding good from what I can hear. Click below to hear him perform “High For This” at the show:
Wale gathered up some DMV up and comers to create an official DC remix to his Self Made track, “600 Benz.”
While at the House of Blues in San Diego, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino busted out a new song for the people. No title was given. A full fledged album should be out this Fall so be on the lookout.
Mike Posner teams up with electro producer Rusko to give us “shut up.” No dubstep on this one. Years later and Posner’s voice still irritates me, but I know the people like him, so here ya go:
When did you first hear about “Otis”? We first heard about the song in early July, end of June. Concord Music Group has the masters and Bill Belmont and Michele Smith from Concord brought it to us. There was a back and forth about whether the name of the song would be “Otis” or “Otis […]
I don’t particularly like this instrumental by itself, but it’s certainly an interesting listen.Produced by Kanye West off of Watch the Throne. Def Jam will be clearing up the confusion regarding the release date/formats tomorrow I’ve read.

Just a quick note. HHU has supported Voli and Elite for a while now, so I definitely encourage everyone in NYC to check out their show TONIGHT (Sunday) at the Bowery Poetry Club from 6 til 9. I think it’s like 5 or 10 bucks at the door and it goes to supporting great music. […]
