Styles P Talks New Album, Working with the LOX

On new album Float:
“The name of the album, Float, is a term I like to use a lot in my day-to-day life. I relate ‘float’ to feeling in a good spot, being in that 4/20-high times element. It’s my version of living life, when you’re in the studio you can’t think, ‘My son’s teacher called, my homeboy irritated the crap out of me.’ You gotta blank everything out and just get in the zone. That’s how I stay consistent.”

On new music with The LOX:
“You’ll probably hear a LOX song any day now. We just did some joints for [Funkmaster] Flex’s mixtape. We’re working now, we’re sticking to the original LOX format. People are calling us with offers [to collaborate], but we’re still in work mode.”

On his Bronx juice bar, Juices for Life:
“Balance. That’s what it’s really about at the end of the day. Especially for our culture and our community, I’m working for anybody who’s around our community that’s not rich. There’s a difference between Whole Foods and C-Town.”
