Barcelona will be the first (reported) city overseas to get a taste of The Weeknd in concert on June 2nd. The Canadian singer will be headlining Pitchfork’s Primavera Sound concert. Also on the bill? Danny Brown, ASAP Rocky, AraabMUZIK, and many more. Full press release below:
Get ready, Europe. On Saturday, June 2, the Pitchfork stage at Barcelona’s San Miguel Primavera Sound Festival will be headlined by none other than the Weeknd. This marks Abel Tesfaye’s first-ever European show announcement. (He’ll make his long-awaited U.S. debut at Coachella).
The rest of the Pitchfork stage lineup is pretty awesome, too. Joining the Weeknd will be Real Estate, Grimes, A$AP Rocky, AraabMuzik, Atlas Sound, Danny Brown, SBTRKT, Washed Out, Lower Dens, Trash Talk, Iceage, the Field, the War on Drugs, Rustie, and many more. UPDATE: Sleigh Bells, Chromatics, Jamie xx, and Purity Ring have been added to the Pitchfork stage lineup. M83, Marianne Faithfull, LFO, Ultramagnetic MC’s, A Storm of Light, and more have all been added to the rest of the Primavera lineup.
San Miguel Primavera Sound takes place May 31-June 2 at Parc del Fòrum in Barcelona.
