SXSW Essential [Unofficial] Show Guide

First of all…damn you all who are getting the privilege to attend, perform or work this event (kidding…but not really). I’ve heard nothing but spectacular things about South By Southwest and I like how it showcases the up & comers, while still throwing some big names in to the mix. Seems like the overall aura is just positive…point blank.
With that said – I’m not 100% (and I don’t care to look up specifics), but I believe, overall, from the 12th until this Wed has been a lot of conferences, small showcases, summits and film premieres. From what I can tell, personally, a lot of the big music events start from Wed the 17th on through the weekend on the 21st.
I’ve been invited to both attend and participate in a number of shows and it has been pretty frustrating saying I can’t be there…or just simply deleting the invite. So instead of being an ass, I compiled a number of recommended shows below and have ordered them by day and time. These are just my personal favorites, but there are a ton more.
As well as shows, I’m gonna throw some twitter names of some great people going out there that I’m, personally, friends with. If you happen to recognize the face, I know they’d be happy to say what up. I surround myself with great people that are genuinely passionate about what they do, so they’re always down to talk music or talk about how wild I get. Modi man knows how we roll. People -
~Make sure to say what up if you see the guys of The Valid Choice. Dbox and Ty Cody are always on the move. Hardworking, up and coming producers that will one day be running the airwaves. Count on it.
~Modi of DCtoBC.com, Complex Magazine, DrJays.com, and the upcoming site, The Great Progression…or TheGeePee. He’s definitely a character and will be in the building at his CRUCIAL showcase. He just moved to Brooklyn and we’ve been terrorizing these streets ever since.
~Dara & Co. from Sub Con Threads. They’ve been making names for themselves by intense work and key product placement of their clothing. They just recently had their shirts featured on HBO’s How to Make it in America. They’re very proud of their accomplishments, so don’t be afraid to say what up on twitter or in person if you recognize the faces (or clothing they will most likely be rocking).
~Artist and HHU friend Young Scolla will be performing a number of events, so be on the lookout for him. Don’t be hesitant about chopping it with Scolla. Good dude and promising MC.
